AI Disclosure

HealthHalo AI uses artificial intelligence (AI) to help you understand your health data. This disclosure explains how we use AI, its capabilities and limitations, and the choices you have regarding AI processing of your data.

How We Use AI

We use AI in the following ways:

  • Lab Report Processing: AI reads uploaded lab reports, extracts biomarker values, and compares them to reference ranges.
  • Health Insights: AI analyzes your health data to identify trends, patterns, and potential areas of attention.
  • Ask Halo AI Assistant: An AI assistant that answers your health-related questions based on your data.
  • Content Generation: AI helps generate educational health content and summaries.

What AI Can and Cannot Do

What AI Can Do

  • Extract and organize data from lab reports
  • Identify trends and patterns in your health data over time
  • Provide educational information about biomarkers and health topics
  • Summarize documents and health records
  • Suggest questions to ask your healthcare provider

What AI Cannot Do

  • Diagnose medical conditions
  • Prescribe treatments or medications
  • Replace professional medical advice
  • Guarantee the accuracy of extracted data
  • Make decisions about your health on your behalf

AI Providers

We partner with established AI providers to deliver these features. All AI processing is governed by data processing agreements that prohibit the use of your data to train models for other users or third parties. Your data is processed securely and in compliance with applicable privacy regulations.

Data Processing

When you use AI features, your health data and questions are sent to AI providers for processing. This data is:

  • Encrypted in transit and at rest
  • Processed under strict data processing agreements
  • Not used to train models that benefit other users
  • Not shared with advertisers or third parties

Limitations

AI-generated insights and responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, or not applicable to your specific health situation. AI systems can produce errors known as “hallucinations.” You should always:

  • Verify AI-extracted data against your original documents
  • Consult a healthcare provider before acting on any AI-generated insights
  • Treat AI responses as educational, not as medical advice
  • Report any inaccuracies you notice

Your Choices

You have control over how AI processes your data:

  • Disable AI features: You can disable AI features from your account settings.
  • Manage AI data permissions: Control what data AI can access via the Data Request page.
  • Delete AI interactions: Request deletion of your AI interaction history at any time.
  • Opt out of AI processing: You can opt out entirely and still use basic platform features.

Updates

We may update this AI Disclosure as we introduce new AI features or change how we use AI. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated disclosure and updating the “Last updated” date. Please review our Medical Disclaimer for important information about the limitations of health-related content.
